Coda: Dreams
Credit where credit is due: this short is a very loose adaptation of a sequence that didn’t make it into the final film. I changed things around: time period, this one taking place in the 1930’s to fit with the others done previously.
Actually, if you have the Art Of book, look at page 114, the 3 panels drawn by Joel Crawford.
Also, little guest appearance by Wardrobe.
Due to work, I won’t be doing any comics for a while. This one would be the final of the Pitch themed ones. After that…who knows?

Intermezzo H. (Part 1)
I’ve never really had the opportunity to work with big, heavy dark shapes (very very rare in everyday work).
Though not quite satisfied with these pages, I am happy I did this exercise. Practice, practice, practice!
As a side note: I will always keep divided Book Pitch and Movie Pitch’s past. I worked over a year with these characters before the books came out. They evolved differently in my head.
That being said, I do love the books and can’t wait to see where the author will take us.

The English translation of Alex Alice’s Siefgried Volume 2: The Valkyrie has been announced and is available for pre-order (Archaia, Amazon). Volume one contained a large section of concept art for the film; here’s hoping volume two will as well, especially since the film is back in development and a ton of new art has been in the works.

Sorry for the long delay in posting these, but daytime work is taking up a lot of energy. I do have a few more ideas to play with, but I can’t tell when these will be done, as it looks like busy work days ahead. Maybe months.
Here’s part 1 of 2. I keep separating book verse from movie verse, but the image of adventurer-soldier, thief North is too fun to ignore.

Pitch has been falling in power for a long time, and with modern times, there are even less magical beings in the world. That, or they are geographically bound to certain parts of the world.
I keep imagining that world getting more and more barren of magic. So even Jack Frost, a late comer, didn’t get the chance to interact with many spirits or other weather phenoms. It’s a very lonely world, when you’re not believed in…
On a brighter note, happy holidays to every one! I promise the next few short stories will be more upbeat.
Yes, even Pitch will have reasons to rejoice!

I ended this one there - yes, Pitch does get defeated. It is the start of his decline (there will be many other battles beside this one).
Yes, that little kid is gone. Possibly disease. Lots of nasty things back then.
The next one is only 3 pages, taking place in the early 1930’s, but I don’t know if I’ll finish it in time for the holidays. Besides, who wants to read something called “Depression” around this time of year?
